Is it BIG enough to rest your index-finger on? Big enough to be functional?
I'm looking for one, if it is . . .
:D
Thx!

I have an OD next to me and I believe they are the same pattern as the AD just thicker. If so then no the choil is not larger enough for an index finger on even my small hand.

It looks pretty big in the pic, bigger than that of Basic 3, at least . . .

Don't have a Basic 3 to compare, and unfortunately I don't have an AD to give you a truly accurate answer. I'm going off the assumption that the AD and OD were from the same overall pattern. I can only say for certain that I could not use the choil for finger placement on the OD :)

Hey Santi hows it going? I have medium sized hands and cannot use the choil for finger placement while choking up on the blade. I kept toying with the idea of enlarging the choil area on mine, but didn't want to lose any cutting area on that small of a blade. I may change my mind though... ;)

...I just measured mine and the round choil "cutout" is 14mm wide and 7mm deep...hope this helps :)

Neg, the choil is not really big enough to choke-up on. I think it will be way too easy to slice your finger on the edge. HTH

as flh said, it is a good way to cut your finger. i know, ive done it :D

wich is actually why i traded off to different busse's. the active duties choil is the same size as the smooth coat basic 3 and basic 5's choil's, and possibly a little bit deeper. the crinkle coat (later edition) line had a smaller choil then the smooth coat.

i loved my crinkle coat basic 5 &3, and found the choil to be acceptably small (but still didnt like it).
