Choiless "Boss Jack" questions.....

I dunno why I was never really interested in what looks to be a great "lighter" weight all around field/woods/bush knife until now, but I just asked Amy to add a CG Boss Jack w/o choil to my Basic 10 order. I'm looking forward to handling this one as the swell in the grip looks more subtle than most other Busse-kin offerings.

I have a few questions/requests about the knife for you INFI Wise ones....

1 - Where did the "Boss Jack" name come from?

2 - Can anyone post a pic of a CCGBJ next to the following: Ratmandu, SARsquatch, HHFSH or Camp Tramp?

3 - Can anyone post a pic of a CCGBJ in hand in a normal, chest lever and hammer grip with thumb covering the pomel/butt area?

THANKS in advance and THANK YOU Amy for letting me add this to my B-10 order!!!

The BOSS Jack F'ing rules - I would be content if it was the last and only Busse I owned (well thats BS, but it still is a classic)...

You're most welcome! :) Tan/sage is a nice combo  I have one with a choil like that.

LOLZ I just got my shipping confirmation on my two BJLEs! One Black Canvas and one pumpkin incoming!

Awesomeness will ensue.

I'm not sure I'd call the CG BOSS Jack 'light weight' o_0

BOSS Jack proto (nearly identical to the cg) = 11.7oz

Finn Wolf = 3.6oz

Would I choose the Finn Wolf over the BOSS Jack? no, but it shows how much weight can be shed through a hidden tang.

How 'bout the "Jack" part?

Was it a Friend/Family member who designed it? Becasue you could use it to "Jack" up a car? Because "Jack Knife" was already taken for Jerry's folder design, so he just used the name for one of his fixed blades? Or just to keep those of us who don't know "Jack" about Busse knife history guessing???

Jerry's Amazing Combat Knife.

OK, OK...That was just for a chuckle! ;) Apparently, Jerry held a naming contest on this model, and an Old Skool HOG by the name of Climber won it.

Thanks, Seth!
i had a grandfather, step-G, actually, who lived without electricity all his life, out in Northern Cali~ north of you (Sierra Nevada foothills) named Jack O'Dell.
He was one tough character, but wiry (thin, like me, sort of). A Logger by profession & a gold-miner by "hobbie". i didn't ACTIVELY think of him at the time, (that i came up with that name) but it seems to fit now. He cut his own wood, lit his own wood-stove for cooking & heating, & enjoyed the outdoors far more than most of us "armchair outdoorsman" ever will experience. My step-brother who lives out there on that same property now by the Yuba River will probably get a chuckle (& a warm unidentifiable fuzziness in his heart) when i tell'm i won the tough all-around knife with the name: Satin Jack.
Thanks for inquiring, Seth.
Yours in Nuclear memories of a tough guy with a heart,
Clif
