Anybody hear want one of these? I really NEED at least a couple myself, I know it's been said around these parts that Choilless anything will never happen again... but maybe just maybe there are others out there with similar tastes. This thread is the place to tell us if you need some of this in your life, maybe (hopefully, fingers crossed) this thread will get wings!!

To heck with that, I want two choils.

Can we just have the whole edge be choil after choil? Either all of the choils, or none of the choils. Regardless, it should be FHFG. Everything should be. Or Zero Convex.

I'm sure that I remember Jerry posting once upon a time that there would be no more choil-less knife designs.

I do recall him saying this:

We currently, have no plans to offer a "choil-less" version of any of our upcoming models.

But that was just their "current" plans for their "upcoming models" three years ago. And although he did explained his preference for a choil in that same thread (the benefits of the choil outweigh the loss of 1/2" to 3/4" of blade), but I don't think it should be read as ruling out a choil-less blade in the future, especially on a smaller blade where 1/2" to 3/4" would make more of a difference.

Would definitely like to see more blades without choils, and even more so would like to see blades with partial serrations or serrations on the spine.

What about no choil, with serrations where the choil would have been?

Be sure to vote in the poll if this is something that interests you, that way anybody (Bueller.... ) who looks into this thread can see the demand for such a beast.

You are correct, this was when they announced the snag free choil option years back. This is actually one of my biggest negatives with the choils, they are a very likely snag point... which the snag free choil was to address. The problem with this of course, is you no longer can actually USE the choil safely as it's sharpened.

What about no choil, with serrations where the choil would have been?

Serrations would be cool on the belly, though would add some difficulty to sharpening. I am not fond of the serrations where you specific, as it's prime real estate for push cutting wood and such where a smooth polished edge excels.

Choil-less rocks!! My first Busse was a choilless Boss Jack that I sold when times got tight (tears). My opinion — that’s really valuable blade space being sacrificed — especially when combined with the talon hole. Huge fan of the Busse group, but not a big fan of throwing away useful blade space and creating a design prone to snags. To each his own — that’s why more options (including a choilless option) is better!

Ideal blade to me: choil-less blade, res-C handle. Not much out there like that. The DS and AD series would’ve been even more amazing with a choil-less option....

Agree 100% my friend! The Basic 8 LE would have been great with an option for this like the Basic 10 LE which is fantastic. Not many of those floating around it seems though, I think 6-8" is about the sweet spot for me though as to real utility as 10" just stays in a pack 100% of the time unless camping.
