Hello,

So today I just felt like disassembling my chokwe but I'm having a hard time...
I got the pivot out fine but the neither of the 2 body screws won't budge a bit....
Has anybody else had this problem? If so, how have you got them out?

Thanks,
Zach

heat them up to break away the loctite. I use a soldering iron and place the tip on the screwhead for a few min, then they break loos pretty easy.

A little heat should loosen the loctite. Also know that the pillars won't free spin inside the scales due to them having a flat milled on the female part that goes into the scale. So don't try to grab the actual pillars and spin them away from the screws, you might be tempted if you get one screw out but can't budge the other screw. Watch that when you put it back together, you want to get it lined up and not force anything. IIRC the flat milled on the pillar is only on one side (don't recall if it is the Ti or the SSxG10 side) The Sage 1,2, Southard, and other pillar knives from Taiwan are like this.

the flat portion of the standoff is on the Ti side:thumbup:

That's correct - flat part of the standoff is on the Ti side.

I agree that a little heat from a soldering iron helps loosen up the loctite. But putting the soldering iron on the screw for "a few minutes" might cause some damage - a few seconds should do it...
