Hey I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for a new blade for me. I've had to limit my options and I can only spend $60 at most(I can get someone else to pay for S&h:D). It's mostly for EDC and collection purposes.
I had my eyes on the spyderco centofante 3, spydeco tenacious, Kershaw leek, and the sog flash 1. Anyone have a suggestion for a folder in this price range?

Spyderco Native, and the Sage1 has been going for around $60-$70 on eBay which is a insane deal.

I have an all black leek and like it a lot. Opens fast with thumbstud or flipper great lock up and makes a nice light duty edc.

delica/endura? i have a delica and really like it. you could also find a griptilian on ebay within your price range, those are damn nice knives too.

Have you looked at kershawguy's Blem Sale thread? Just as a mention, he has both the new Blurs: CPM154 and orange for $49 and the CB ZDP-189 and brown for $55. Not only is the Blur a great all around knife, but you get the chance to play with high end steels like CPM154 or ZDP-189 at ridiculously low prices.

Kershaw RAM: It has an awesome lock that allows you to flip the blade open and close by disengaging the lock on the side of the knife. It also has a great flipper that shoots the blade open every time without any wrist movement. The steel is pretty good and will get really sharp.

Buck Vantage pro: Has a nice thin hollow grind which makes it a great slicer and uses a BOS heat treated S30V blade. It also has a flipper but needs a little wrist action, at least for me. It is a liner lock which I'm not a huge fan of but seems like a good one.

Kershaw OD-1: Can be had for 40 bucks at walmart so you can handle it in person before buying. Has a pretty neat flipper that is actually not fixed to the blade and levers (?) the blade open. It's a frame lock and has the hinderer lock bar stabilizer.

Could also probably find a mini-griptilian in that price range. Then you would get to try out the AXIS lock which everyone needs to own at least one of.

Thanks for your options guys. I already have an axis lock benchmade and although great, I don't feel the call for another one. So I've come between what everyone else has said. I think I'll settle with either a leek, blur, or buck vantage. Why is there so many good options.

I would say get the centofante 3 or a SOG if you want a fun edc knife. I have a flash1 and it is a fun knife, but too small.. so I would say get at least a Flash 2, Trident, twich XL.

I am lookin to get a centofante 3 next, looks very nice and all reviews are

All decent choices. If you go with the Buck, make sure you get the Vantage Pro. Get the Bos HT S30V. Leek? I'd go with the CPM-D2 Composite Blade. Check with kershawguy to see if he has any coming in. If not, you might be pushing your price point. As for the Blurs, I already mentioned them. CPM154 for $49 and the Composite Blade ZDP-189 for $55.

Everyone should have a knife with ZDP! :D

I'll post my usual recommendations:

  • [*]Kershaw Skyline - $35 : US made, good Sandvik steel, nice the blade shape, G-10 handles, liner lock, hollow ground blade, bead blasted finish, 2 position clip for right handed tip up or tip down carry, phosphor bronze washers, light weight, smooth and fast flipper w/ thumbstud also (non-AO)

[*]Spyderco Tenacious - $30-35 : Chinese made, high quality, high value, very good fit & finish, decent steel, G-10, handles, liner lock, 4 position clip for tip up/down/left/right carry, phosphor bronze washers, fast & smooth deployment, open construction, full-flat grind, Spyder Hole (non-AO), great thumb jimping

[*]Buck Vantage Pro - $40-45 : US made, S30V "premium" steel, G-10 handles, liner lock, very high value considering the Paul Bos treated S30V, great clip design that rides very low in pocket, hollow ground blade 2 position clip for left or right tip up carry, open construction, thumbstud and thumbslot (non-AO), no jimping

[*]Kershaw Leek - $35-50+ depending on steel and handle options : US made, S30V "premium" steel, steel handles, frame lock, Sandvik steel (other steel choices include S30V, ZDP-189/Sandvik composite blade), hollow grind blade 2 position clip for right hand tip up or tip down, thumbstud and flipper w/ AO, minimal jimping

All are 3 - 3 1/2". All are in my EDC rotation. You can get the Kershaws from Walmart. The Skyline is my favorite and gets the most carry.

Copy and paste baby! :p

I don't know if you've considered a traditional pocket knife but Great Eastern Cutlery has great fit & finish, attractive choice of handle scales, and very strong back springs. Made in the USA and can be had for less than $60 shipped.

Good news:). I'm getting $40 tomorrow so I don't feel as bad about spending.
So I now changed my options to damascus leek, Centofante 3 still, or I could wait and get a paramilitary/zt 200/other. Everyone seems to have a different favorite and I'm on amazon seeing all possibilities. It truly shows how far we've come in making blades.
