I've got a hankering to try a new knife. There are tons of options available, many out of my range of comfort.

But I think I've narrowed down my wish list to two items, neither that I've had before. I would like your thoughts, understanding that in general it's a personal choice and that no one has experience with one choice.

I'm eying the Slysz Bowie or the Nirvana colab. One is available now and the other preorder. I've never used either steel.

"Range of Comfort"?
Probably means something different to you than myself?
With me it's a quality knife with decent steel that isn't so pricey that I'm going to baby it. Worthless if it only comes out of your pocket to show a buddy how this particular slick looking piece of pocket jewelry can cut up some newspaper...
I have a few like that but you're looking for an edc right?
If I were looking right now for something in my comfort zone with good ergos and a nice steel it would be the Gayle Bradley 2.
I'll grab one eventually but in the end it will only compete for pocket space with a hundred others so there's no hurry, I won't run out of users in this lifetime. ;)

I don't baby my knives, but because of life style I generally don't have a lot of heavy duty needs.

I tend to be self conscious about showing off knives because people don't understand. And I'm not flash. I just like good knives that look good to me.

The Slysz Bowie was designed for you then. Understated excellence, on par with a Sebenza IMHO, and I've had more than a few of those too.

Slysz Bowie! The Nirvana is a little... gaudy or something... IMO.

I really like the ascetic of the Nirvana, but isn't it like $100 more expensive? Have never handled either, but have heard great things about the Slysz. I'd imagine it feeling nicer in the hand as well.

Found a great price on a like new one. You enablers. You wonderful enablers!

Do it.

It came. It's a great knife. I like how slim it is. The thin blade is nice, also.

It's not very rigid. Seems fine. It will likely rub a bit but I don't worry about that.

It's too….Benchmade is how I'd put it. Not in a bad way, but that's what I think of when I see it.

Good choice, OP. Congrats! Reading your 2nd sentence I was going to recommend a Delica, but no need.
