I'd just like to say that I'm grateful to have found this forum. I'm new to knives and I needed something to use around the campsite. Reading through old posts I was led to the khukuri, then to Himilaya Imports, and finally to my 16.5" WWII. Add my name to those that have said what a great outfit Himilaya Imports is to purchase from. And thanks to all the knowledgable folk who frequesnt this board.

I too just got a 16.5" WWII from Himalayan Imports. Can't wait for College to be out so I can use it. H.I. is a great place and Uncle Bill is great to do business with.- Joined

You really should try Bill Siegle a custom maker who sells on the Fixed Blade by Maker in the exchange forums here!

Good choice on the 16.5" WWII. I have a couple of 18" WWII's and they are great. My favorite khukuri is the HI 16.5" Chiruwa AK. Robert is right about Bill Siegles work. I carry around one of his fixed blades daily, a mini-khuk with 7" blade. Very tough and chops good for its size. You should also look at some of the stuff this guy Robert Hankins makes

...and two of my favorite makers are Himalayan Imports and Bill Siegle. There are alot of excellent makers out there but when you buy a knife from Bill, or Bill, you really want to go out and chop up some dead wood. They are good value and excellent knives intended for serious use.
