I´ve been collecting knives for many years 30+years. Properly with a few exceptions all POS knives in the eyes of a community like this. BUT I have decided it´s time to change that, so for the last five month or so, I have been trying to pick a flipper knife for my collection. Flipper knife is new to me, up til now knifes with thumb knob is most common in my collection, except for a few cheaper knifes i have picked up to try the flipper concept. A assisted flipper from Haller and two small ones from Manker. I like the action, and have been looking into the following makers : Alphahunter, Rick hinderer, Microtech, Curtiss, Kirby Lambert, Darrel Ralph, Lightfoot , Rainy Vallotton, I know the last one is Auto, two way deploy, wish he would make a flipper too. I could keep up going through my lists of information here, but this should give you an ideer about the level of knife I´m looking for. But the more I have been looking the more confused I have become. By now I have a list of properly 30 - 50 knifes I need to own. Budget is 1500-2000 if it will be necessary some more. I would appreciate some input on picking the first descent flipper and also the best flipper at this price range. I have been trying to reach out to some of the Makers I was interested in, but none of them even bothered to write back, not even a "polite fuck you My time is to valuable for newbis like you" just plain nothing. Little disappointing for me to find out the level of interest they have in me, as a possible future costumer. Even though I specifically requested them in a polite way to decline my request on E-mail. That way I wouldn't be waiting for something that would never happen. Was I out of line asking them in the first place, I don´t know?. But for sure it will not happen again. I really hope all this writing will lead me to a more productive and positive result inhere :)

I also have a Jerry Rados Damascus Bowie, and if I can find the value and a buyer for that one, it properly would up my budget quite a bit I think. So don´t exclude a knife, just because it goes beyond my budget, if it is "my future knife" there will be a way, just need to find it :)

check out the website arizona knives. the blades are in stock with no waiting. many famous makers there.

What I wanted and hoped for with this post, was some sort of a pointer towards a specific knife maker. Maybe a comment from one who had owned a knife from some of the makers I listed, who could recommend one over another, or point me in the direction of another maker. Off cause I want a lot of knifes from many makers, but I do not have the funds to execute that plan, as fast as I would like. I know I have some issue, about making that final decision, when I´m stock in my emotions. But the time it took writing this post and the time waiting for an input. Made me realize that all the knifes on this level have a centered blade and "flips well" etc etc.. what it comes down to is what knife shouts to your heart the loudest, based on design and choice of material used building the knife . But I think I have found "the One" knife for me, so I will properly stick with that. I am familiar with the site you mentioned John April, they have a lot of treasures. But never the less Thanks to you John for taking the time and trying to help me out, appreciate it ;)

couple things;

to the OP- your second post comes pretty close to asking for values, which you can only do with a paid membership. Just something to keep in mind going forward as a new member

John- I know you're trying to be helpful, but please keep in mind the entity you're referring people to doesn't support Bladeforums. Click on this link to get to cutlery dealers who support this site
