Hey all, I was asked by a fellow bladeforum member, who also is a proud member of our armed services to make him a camp/chopper knife. Basically this is his design with just a couple tweaks here an there from me to make the knife balance and flow a little better. It is a one of a kind that I will never do again.
The knife is now with him but he asked that I post a couple pictures for you guys here on the Custom Knife forum to look at for him because he cannot post them at this time. I regret that these are the only pictures I have so they will have to do.
The knife was made using CPM D2, the finished thickness is approximately .212 along the spine with drawn swedges. It measures 14 1/2 inches long with a 9 1/2 inch blade that is almost 2 inches wide. The scales are stabilized Koa with red spacers and Loveless bolts. The sheath is a right hand pouch style medium carry and again made to his request. I think the overall design of both turned out great, I am extremely proud and honored to make this knife for a fellow American in the service of our country. I hope it serves him well for many years to come.

Thanks for posting this for me Joe. This is my second custom now and first full size knife. Once I get back home next week I'll be able to put up some photos. I took it to a 2x4 and a few 4x4s today at the office and I couldn't believe how quickly it chewed and split through them. And to boot its beyond shaving sharp. I have a bald spot on my leg where I just took a light pass at an angle w only the weight of the blade and it left it smooth as a babies bottom. It felt perfect in my hand, could've have asked for better balance and while it may not be aesthetically pleasing to all its exactly what I was looking for. I'll be going camping at the end of the month and I'll really put it through the ropes. I couldn't have asked for better overall quality and I'm grateful for all the quick responses and the knowledge you instilled upon me. I look forward to starting a skinner of the same caliber next month so this one doesn't get lonely!!

this is what it's all about! Good show, gents.
