Well, It was time to give this 11 1/2" blade, 18" overall 0-1 blade a test drive.
With a fresh hair popping edge I took to the woods near my house.

I found a larger sized log that I normally would not attempted with a knife. This knife is extra large so I felt that it could handle it easily.

Well, in less than a miniute it was in cut. The knife performed this task very easily as you can see....not tiring of the hand what soever since the hooked butt of the handle allowes for a full on swing without the fear of a flying knife!!!

Here is the split long....

I had the angle too steep on the knife so the edge was slightly deformed and small chips were present. I was hitting this log harder than I ever had before since this is such a large blade. Into the shop for a quick andle change to the edge......here is the new slightly more angled edge and a few slits on news paper....back to the woods for the same dried log...

This time no edge deformation and still hair shaving sharp!!!!

Overall I am pleased with this knife and lok forward to taking it camping and really gining it a run for its money!!

Great looking blade bro

Gonna start making that a production item??

ya happy with the steel?? Thought about upping the steel to another level yet?? s30V or CPM 154?

I am working on a beast or 2 myself...err after the short sword idea anyway! :)

again great work!!!

I just have a soft spot for 0-1 :) Its a damn hard user steel thats for sure! This can be an order knife in my line. I tend to repeat all designs I make :)

I will try out 154 CPM in the kitchen first I think :)

Nice choppa little buddy. Did you end up with a convex edge?
By the way, how did you get that chicken to stand still so you could shave his leg?:D
Just kiddin . You did a great job on that one.

he he........no I dont really like the convex edge, I just added a smaller secondary angle to it. I need to rework the edge but she's a workin so I may not right away;)

Looks grteat BL-I really dig the recurve-looks like a hell of choppa':D

I agree that stainless might be a little better for the kitchen, and the O1 might be better for the choppers.

got the edge cleaned up a bit by clamping the knife handle to my table and working the edge with a large stone. Dont remove too much material that way!! She is good to go........... :)

Wow-wa wee wa! thats an awesome knife! and I quote: "RUN! GO! GET TO ZEE CHOPPA!"-Arnold, predator

are those G-10 scales?

Wow, Brian!
I usually can't warm up to the larger choppers, but this one is way too cool. I like that one alot.
Keep up the fine work!
