Ok, so I've got my small blade (Mora Clipper) and my main duty blade (BK7). Now I need something that can do some serious chopping. As much as I plan on getting the King in the future, I would prefer something whose sole purpose is chopping (not that my 7 can't...). Thoughts?

2 words. Ma Chax :D

But of course. It seems to be good for a whole lot of things concerning wood

BK9 is a great chopper. I love mine. I have big plans for stripping it, removing the ramp, and making my own kydex sheath for it.
A quick search of this forum should turn up a load of threads with BK9 chopping tests, examples, etc.

Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe?

edit: Sorry, I didn't realize I was in the Becker forum.

If you're already thinking of getting the BK9, then you're on the right track. In the Becker line it can't be beat.

I'd vote for the nine as well. Chopping power and versatility in a relatively compact blade.

I had the pleasure of swinging a Machax the other day, and I would say that it has exceeded my expectations. I LOVE my BK9, but the Machax just feels so right, and chops SO good!. If I wasn't low on funds, the next purchase I would make would be that sexy BK4.

Cant go wrong with either the Machax or the King. If I were getting just one it would be the King.

Ive yet to swing a 9, but I do agree with the others. The Machax just feels so right...... I love her
