I seem to have developed a liking for choppers, and i would like a recommendation of one to get, here's what I would like.
10"-12" Blade
Micarta Handle
About $125

Any Recommendations are appreciated. Thank You in advance.

I second the ESEE Junglas. Looking at it in pictures with the Busse Battle Mistress it compares quite well. It is much thinner, but that can be an advantage as far as carrying and utility, and if you're not chopping thick wood then it can be better as well. The warranty is as good as it gets and the knife is very well made.

I hear good things about the Hoonglas, you may also consider( though only 9") a Becker BK 9. It's a very useful tool and everytime I use it I am impressed with not only it's goodness at chopping, also the ability to do finer work. I carved a fork with mine. $75 to $80 ish add $40 for micarta, though it's fine without it.

Compared to the Bushwacker Battle Mistress they are even except the Junglas has a superb sheath (and I do mean superb - the Busse has no sheath) and it's about $160 compared to about $400'ish for a Busse BWM without a sheath and the BWM - not as sharp from the company. :(

One more recommendation: Fiddleback Forge 12" machete. I think it will out chop a Junglas. Andy is backlogged currently and it will take him a while to get out from under his workload, but at $100 it's the only other contender I can think of. I am currently, patiently, awaiting shipment of one. I think paired with a 4" blade it will become my combo of choice.

all these are excellent ideas. the bk9 may have the best price point. i dont think you need the micarta. looks and feels great with the normal handles.

Becker BK9, Ranger Rd9, Ranger RBS9, and RTAKII are the only ones I can think of in your price range.

Browning Crowell/Barker competition +2

-Great knife for the money. The sheath is mediocre though.

Becker BK9 - I'm with those who say the micarta isn't necessary, leaving you enough money to piggy back the 9 with an 11 or 14 (14 would be my choice).

If you seriously consider going the more expensive route, like the Junglas, I would strongly suggest finding comparison reviews between it and the Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri. If chopping is the chore, there's not a better blade shape for a knife than the kukri. I love my Beckers and have no qualms recommending the BK9 in the highest regard, but there's a significant enough improvement in chopping ability with the Gurkha Kukri that I'd recommend that over any straight blade. That said, my recommendation is based only on chopping since "Choppers...." was what you named your thread. If you think you'll also be batoning with it, go for the BK9. By far the best value, and if there's any advantage with something like the Junglas being an inch or so longer, it would be imperceptible to you.

There's also the RD9 from Ranger, the Ka-Bar Cutlass Machete, Kukri, Ontario SP8 Survival machete, and their big bowies.
The Ka-Bar's are really great for their price, sheaths could be much better or course, but they sure can chop.
Get a used BRK Golok, light and fast, nice leather sheath as well!
