I have an elk antler tine and I am looking for a blade blank to mount on it.
I know what I want but have no idea where to find it.

I would like to have a blade that could serve as a brushing tool, i.e., could take out shrubbery, hack through saplings and small branches, as well as sheer large grasses. I'm imaging something like a mini-machete.... blade about 12" long, 2-3" in width, I dont need a stabbing point on the tip, this is strictly a slashing tool. Rat tail tang to slip into the antler to make the handle.

Appreciate any recommendations on sources for such a thing, or other thoughts.

Pullrich,
Not sure if you are looking for a really good quality blade blank but if you are Gene Martin makes some great blanks and will polish them for you too. Plus he is a great guy and a wealth of knowledge. Find him here: http://www.customknife.com/

If you are looking for something inexpensive then you might try Jantz.com. On a side note their webpage sucks so download the catalog on PDF.

Hope that might get you going.
Eric
