Or, How I Spent My Saturday Morning...

I woke up this morning feeling generally lousy and immediately knew the answer - I hadn't hacked anything apart in almost a week. Sick or not sick, it was time to cut some stuff up.

Note: some of the pics are pretty large so I'm posting links instead of inserting them. Those of you on dialup can thank me later. ;)

First off was the 25" Kobra against a plastic milk jug full of water. I managed five cuts before I couldn't keep it on the stand anymore. Unfortunately due to technical difficulties the event was not filmed and the pics were taken after the fact.

The culprits.

The victim.

Tatami is scarce in these parts but there always seem to be plenty of empty beer cans laying about; thus, these abundant targets were filled with water and sent off to great recycling bin in the sky with due ceremony. I apologize for the poor quality of these but they're stills from the equally poor quality video.

Twelve Inch Sirupati

Napoleon Sword

Also used were a seax, 20" AK, AK Bowie and the Rose. No stills available at this time.

A CS Grosse Messer seemed slightly overkill for aluminum cans. (Not that I won't give it a shot at a future time.) However, it just arrived last night and had to get used at least once. Next up on the chopping block went some foam pipe insulation. This stuff is surprisingly hard to cut.

All of this does, of course, get a bit messy after a while. I keep a box of trashbags outside to aid in cleanup.

The Aftermath

The videos turned out nice and small; I'll probably wind up putting them up in the near future so everyone can make fun of my bad form. :)

Great stuff as usual. Notice the edge on the Kobra.

Milk jugs were sliced into rings... hmmm.

Wonder if I get that same look? Must experiment later with Villager....

<looks around room for something needing hacking>

Well, I am whittling on a cedar log- can't decide what to make out of it but it sure smells nice...

Is it just me, or does Satori sort of resemble Riddick in the first picture due to the way the camera lit up his pupils. Just tzn Sat and thanks for sharing this.

Bob

Riddick is far cooler than me, Bob. That, and he didn't have a Kobra. Although he should have.

It takes good form to cut up a milk jug like that. Even with a sharp khukuri or sword it's not easy. Nice job.
