Chopping with a Military?

Well, light chopping I mean. When fondling my brand new Military,I found that the ergonomics of the handle make me hold the knife in a hammer grip at the end of the handle very comfortably. It makes for a hold that seems to invite light chopping. I know chopping is not something you should do with a folder, let alone that the military probably is too light for this. Yet, has anyone used their military for light chopping? How did the knife hold up?

Well, what would you call light chopping?

I have used my Military several times to 'whack' branches off a wild cherry tree in my front yard. Up to about 1/2 inch in diameter, which results in a clean cut with one chop. So, I'd call that light. Or maybe not even light chopping, but something less?

One thing is for certain: you can get some real blade speed on the Military if you grip it back near the end of the handle.

Wow, thanks guys. That's exactly what I've been wondering about, glad to know the knife will hold up.

Oops, operator error resulted in a mis-fire. Good thing I can operate guns better...
