They get beat on, drunk, go on play dates, and meet new friends.....

Then comes time for a makeover, using a sanding block and a little elbow grease......

At this point it still had the factory edge on it and had never been sharpened, and still performed great.... But it was time for some edge work....

Choppy after being thinned out and sharpened by a pro, then beat on some more.... Performing better than ever!!

Well that brings us to today.... She has had an exciting life so far and its only just begun!

Thanks Swamp Rat for making the best camp knife i have ever had the pleasure of holding.

Nice WW! I really like the coating you've left on the polish looks awesome. What grit did you take it down to?

Thanks bro,

In the picture below i just used a 3M Large Area Drywall Sanding Sponge, Fine/Medium grades, and kept sanding till all the coating was removed where i wanted it gone, then switched to the fine side and kept going till i was happy with how it looked. Im sure with some finer grit sandpapers i could of gotten it more "shiny".... And with coarser paper i could of removed the coating faster.... It took a couple hours of elbow grease... But i was happy with it.

In the 2nd to last picture i just used Flitz, a rag, and time on the top 2 knives..... But on the large Giedymin blade i had to use the sanding block because it had more stubborn stains.

I had all 3 blades cleaned up and polished today by hand in around 3 hours. Time well spent.

I recognize the plunge lines on that regrind...excellent choice my friend.

Thanks bud,

Dan Keffeler did the regrind as a favor for me while tuning up my comp cutter before the BladeSports event last weekend!! That man knows a thing or 2 about edges, and he did an amazing job!!

Thats a pretty nice polish with just a sanding block I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for sharing.

A nice user just sold in the exchange last week for 275. And there is a real nice new one with green coating in the exchange right now still for sale for 399. They still come up for sale every now and then.... Its a lot of money, but this knife is worth it.

It's amazing how a make-over like that can bring new life to a knife. Thank you again for sharing, WW.
