Just got my new piggyback for my Chopweiler and Swamp Warden. Man these JRE guys are masters. This is the nicest leather sheath I've owned. It's done as a multi-carry option so that I can instantly swap between drop loop and dangler. The dangler folds flat behind the drop loop. Pretty ingenious design.

Beautiful sheath! I really like the piggyback, nice and slim, I've seen a lot of of piggybacks that are so thick.

Hey Rob,

That turned out outstanding dude. Glad you got it done in time for training!!!

I like that, very cool. Who's JRE?

JRE is a custom leather maker in Illinois. These guys are outstanding to deal with, and produce top notch stuff. I literally went and talked to Spen in person and said "Hey Spen, I want a sheath with this, and this, and this, and this, and this, and this...." Then I told him "But here's the twist, I want to be able to quickly switch between drop loop and dangler". I was expecting at best I would get a dangle sheath that had a big snap on the dangler so I could remove it. Instead, Spen mounted the dangler through the back of the drop loop instead of doing the normal ring right through the drop loop. This way, the dangler can lay flat behind the drop loop so I can wear it drop loop style with the dangler still attached. Awesome.

Hey, that looks fantastic! Great job. I do have to ask one question though. I love the way the wet formed piggyback looks for the SW *but* are you getting any cutting into the leather when you insert the SW? It looks like, without a welt, it could start to cut the interior of the piggyback sheath. It may be the angle of the shot, though.

Either way, it looks awesome.

I wonder how the Ratweiler Classic would fit.
I really like the JRE sheaths, I had them build me a lefty for my Aurora and it is great.

Great looking sheath for those fine Rats. Do you have any more pics of the dangler/drop loop setup?
