I'm thinking of getting the chosera stones but for about $100 bucks more I could get the Wicked Edge pro pack 1... any thoughts or comments on what you would do facing this first world problem?

I have both the WE and the KME as well as other systems but these two see a lot of use. I have no experience with the chosera stones and never felt the need or urge to buy them. I like having both systems as each have their own strengths and weaknesses and with both systems I use strops and diamond lapping films if I want a super fine polished finish.

I wouldn't do Choseras, like fvdk said, if you want polish, I'd look at lapping films, or even high grit sandpaper (2000+).

If you like playing with diferent sharpeners then I'd consider the W.E. You might also look at the "Field and Sport" versions of the W.E.... I think they come with the upgraded arms for around the same price as the standard models.

I looked at the field kit but it looks like you can't dial it in like the home version... At least that what the Amazon review said. Can I just put an angle cube on to for precision?

I looked at the Amazon reviews... they're a couple years old. Pretty sure that's on a version they no longer sell... it now comes with adjustable arms.

Looking at the field kit pro pack for $500... Not sure if I should pull the trigger. I'm happy with my KME, but would I be happier with the WE? Lol. ....

Also, I question the sweeping motion of the WE vs the sweeping and upward motion of the KME. . . I think I need both units so that I may sleep at night...

When in doubt, don't checkout! :D

Seriously, I like playing with different sharpeners, so if you do, go for it. But, while there's obvious differences, if you're happy with the KME, it's a good system that does a good job.

In the end, all roads lead to sharp!

I'm not sure what this means... (maybe you have them backwards?). But in reality, both work fairly similar...
