Hello Chris, I am The Super Bowie user! A lot of people are asking about the tang on the Super bowie, & SOG Bowies in general.
You need to help out here by answering some questions.
1. Is the Super Bowie tang a narrow tang, like on a Ka-Bar?
2. How wide is the tang?
3. Is the Blade & Tang one piece or is the tang "welded" on?

Thank you Brother for your time & help!:)

Here are some answers

1 - Not familiar enough with Ka-Bar to compare but I have included an image below for reference.

2 - It is about 1/2" wide. Again see picture

3 - It is one piece.

Chris, wouldn't the knife be a little better if there was a radius at the blade/tang junction instead of those sharp corners? I re-handled an older Seal 2000 and there were not any sharp corners like the one in the picture. I just figure that if the knife could potentially be used for chopping, the sharp corners will act as stress risers.

I think this will help alot. Many people are afraid of what might be hidden in the leather!
