Chris Reeve automatic

I believe one of the Vallottons converted 21 inlays at one time and stopped at Chris Reeves's request.

The man who does not advocate wrist flicking his knives probably is appalled by the idea of an automatic.

The day CRK makes an automatic is the day I stop buying his knives. Thankfully, that day will likely never come.

Nope, no automatics, no flippers, no slip joints...........!!! I already asked Mr. Reeve :)

Very nice, bigmark. You have quite the collection. Regarding the automatic CRK's, I can't speak for anyone, but Butch told me that Mr. Reeve HATES automatics. Maybe he was just hamming it up a little, but the idea I took away was that for whatever reason, he can't stand autos, and did not care for his knives being converted. For what it's worth.

He an I both! Then again, I don't like cheese, unless it's on a pizza! Frankly, I never understood the fascination with automatics or spring/torsion bar assisted openers and have gone so far as to de-assist assisted opening knives. But, that's just me.

Thanks for all the replies. I love CRK and have 4 myself. Looking forward to many more. Just was wondering about the autos.

LOL, I've had the same conversation with CR...he does not like them.

Autos are cool....period.

Autos are not cool....period.

But this sounds better. Autos are not cool....(IMO).

Your correct, thats why Protech & Microtech (just to name a couple) specialize in manual knives...lol.

It's not my opinion, it's a fact.

And thats why I, or anyone I know, would never own either of those brands...lol.

Cool for you to buy what you like, but that doesn't make it a "fact" that they are cool to everyone.

A good one hand opening knife is all I need. Flippers and Autos are fun to play with, but don't add anything that I need. Autos also have more to break.
This is going pretty far back in my memory, but I believe Chris Reeve felt the autos were bad for the industry and would lead to more legislation.
