Just got a couple Chris Reeve Folders, Sebenza 21 and Sebenza 25 ! Love these knives, the build quality is extreme. Any one have any knowledge of how or what method they use at the factory to get theses edges so sharp and highly polished ? Most of my Benchmades and others look like the blade was sharpened on a grinder leaving coarse marks on the edge, the CR edges are just about perfect, any sharpening insights will be much appreciated

Final sharpening by hand and stropped. Most factory edges are machine ground in 1 or 2 passes and shipped out, they are exactly what they look like.

OK did not know that. Thanks, Do most guys work on those "Ground Edges" to clean them and polish ? What would be best for that ? Super fine stone and leather Strop ???

Depends. I usually use the factory edge for a bit. Then I touch it up on the SharpMaker. Eventually I'll take them all to then UF stones on the 30 and 40 degree sides, but I will use the knife first. The SharpMaker takes a while. For what it's worth I haven't had to do that yet on my small 21.

If you have a strop and use it on the day you use your knives, you will rarely have to use any other system of stones or ceramics. It is much easier to keep it hair popping sharp then let it get blunt and try to sharpen it. Good luck and happy stropping. Btw, I strop my CRK's and they take the hair of your arm with no trouble. Just a few passes per day I use it keeps it that way.
