Hey all,

I watched this documentary video called "The Exquisite Blade: The legend of Chris Reeve" and am wondering if this is the DVD everyone is talking about? You know with that asian woman (korean I think?) who keeps calling it the YAH-borough (lol, made me laugh:P)

Is this the one thats available, or is there another one out there?

Cheers!

She is from Taiwan, the DVD was made by the "knife and life" guys. I know them in passing as I always see them at the Taipei knife show and the like. I have no comment on wether she was a good choice for the DVD or not......

Yes it is. It was made available again recently and that is why everyone is talking about it. If you think that it was funny she called it the YAH-borough you should see how much we (those living in South Africa) can laugh for those trying to pronounce Umnumzaan. :D

I thought it was pronounced oom-noom-zahn. However, I willingly, and admittedly incorrectly, always call it the uhm-nuhm-zahn.

I believe the proper pronunciation is nummnummnumm, however umnummnumm is also acceptable (think: cookiemonster)
;)

That is how Chris Reeve him self said it so I can only presume that he has it right. :p

You do know that by posting that you will start the small Umnumzaan frenzy again. :p

Did you say they are finally coming out with a small umnumzaan ?? Do you know when ???............:p

In all seriousness, the DVD is awesome. Anyone out there that is a CRK fan would certainly enjoy it. I especially liked the DVD centering around the sebenza. When I started my CRK collection, I had easily over a dozen One Piece Knives before I even tried a CRK folder. Now I would say I lean more towards the folders because I can carry them everyday. As much as I love my OPR's, I love the sebenzas, umnumzaans, mnandi's, ti-locks just as much if not more.

Small umnumzaan?! Sweet!

Also, it seems its pronounced oom-NUHM-zahn with the accent on the NUM instead of the UM...

All i have to say is that I was caressing my umnumzaan during that interview. Now i am sharpening it :)

Just finished on my fine ceramic stone and am about to strop it on my four sided paddle strop.

I think I am going to watch the DVD again...
