What up knife nerds!

What’s your preferred Chris Reeve finish? Glass blasted or sandblasted and why?

From a causal carry view, glass blasted. Hands will be clean, no worry about having the knife slip out of your hand.
From a work perspective, the sandblasted is the better choice. On a hot day when you’re sweating and need to use your knife, the sandblasted finish offers a better grip that will be less prone to slipping out of your hand.I prefer the sand blasted finish because I like the feel of the roughness better.

I am debating which would be best to get too. This would be my first CRK and probably can't get two. Hope more people who have both weigh in.

I have both and here’s my 2 cents worth…The sand blasted is grippy when new and provides that classic Chris Reeve patina opportunity ie. snail trails. The glass blasted is not slippery, but isn’t as grippy as the sand blasted. The glass blasted will look the same throughout the life of the knife. Can’t go wrong with either choice.

I like both finishes with a slight leaning towards sand blasted. Not just on CRK's but most of my Ti framelocks.

Sorry, a novice question here: what is a "snail trail"? A particular sign of use?

I do like the look of glass blasted.

Greetings fellow knife nerds! I would like to go sand blasted when I finally purchase a CRK. But can someone please tell me why some frames look darker than others? Particularly on ones with micarta inlays it seems. I've love a plain sand blasted darker handle without any inlays. Cheers!

Voting for glass blast. But mine are primarily for opening boxes, as an eating utensil, etc. I'm not a blue collar worker or tradesman, so that might help you decide.
