What do you guys think of the Chris Reeve Pacific Knife. I just ordered one. If you've dealt with his knives or this particular one, please let me know feedback. Thank you

Have had several of his knives, but not the pacific. All are top notch. You will find they are held in very high regards here.

And welcome to blade forums!

Wow. Not even a Swiss Army knife? Certainly spoiling yourself on your first knife. It took me years before I got the nerve to spend that much money on a single blade
Awesome thanks for the input. It's my first knife.

Ask in the crk forum as well. I'm sure a lot more guys and gals can help there. Congrats. Spoiling yourself rapidly I see.

I have the Pacific, Green Beret and the Neil Roberts ( in S35VN!) as well as four one piece knives.....and the Pacific is the most comfortable to use and the one I would take with me for SHTF senario. You chose very well.

I have had many and still do have several CRK and, as stated above, the Pacific is a very ergonomic and user-friendly knife.

Awesome clear. You should post pics. I really wanted a black handle on it but they said the micarta takes forever or something to make. Like a year. Lol I don't want to wait that long though. My lead time is I believe 4-6 weeks.

Lol I'm looking for a good tactical knife for my bedside. :)

I don't want to derail the thread but is there a reason you aren't looking for a nightstand gun? If you aren't a convicted felon, underage or live in a liberal city/state I would much rather have a full size Glock or a 12ga.

Yeah well my ptsd and tbi from being a grunt and guns don't mix well. I'm very knowledgable in that department. Ideally of course I would like a sig 220 carry or a compact/full size hk usp but for my family and the sake of myself it's not good for me to have a gun anymore.

Understood. Thank you for your service.

Got a question for you Jay. I'm in CA, and I'm looking at doing knife throwing classes. Do you know anybody that teaches that or anyone that may travel out here that does that?

I love the Pacific. It's my favorite of the Reeve\Hersey knives. I have owned the Neil Roberts, 5.5" GB, and the Pacific. My Only gripe about the Pacific is that I wish it was also offered in a non-serrated version.

The Pacific is on my next to buy list. I went to a local store to hold the CRK Green Beret, Pacific, and Spartan Blades Difensa.

The Green Beret just doesn't feel good in my hand at all. There's something about that first choil / groove on the Green Beret. The Pacific and Difensa on the other hand fit nicely in my hand.

Sorry I do not. Im in south MS. I would start off with a cheap set of throwing knives and practice in your back yard. You will figure out distance, release etc pretty quickly. Whatever you do, do not throw the Chris Reeve. Lol. Unless its actually a knife made for throwing there's a good chance you will break it pretty quickly. Good luck and have fun.
