There can be loads of tells, from blade steel, price you paid, where you bought it, screws and on, but I have found the dates inside the scales to be a good one.
And they don't have to be the ssme on each scale

As stated each scale should have a date code stamped inside.

Also, If it has Torx anywhere = fake right off the bat.

If needed, Posting high quality pictures can help the forum experts. The link below can help you go down that road.

Welcome.
Where did you buy it?
How much did you pay?
What makes you think that it might not be legit?
How about please and thank you.

Go the the CRK sub forum and find older threads dealing with the question you are asking.
There are quite a few indicators to look for such as the letters in "Idaho made", the type of steel, torx, magnetic scales, price etc.

After Chris Reeve left the company, around 2016, are any of the knives they still make real Chris Reeve knives??

Deep, not serious question. :)

(His son and ex-wife have run the company since and they seem to still be fine, in case some start worrying)

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
You shouldn't exclude what your bank may know. And even if your bank is in Vegas, they'll sell your data faster than you can sneeze.

I believe there are countless ways to determine if your CRK is 'real'. For example, if a magnet sticks to a scale, it's not Titanium. If the lanyards are not the right fabric. If it's not the correct weight.

Bigger clues:

Did you buy it from a dude named Ali Baba?

Did you buy it from a warehouse named after the largest river in South America?

Did you fail to buy it from an authorized and reputable dealer?
