A friend gave me "The American Zone", by L. Neil Smith (Tor Book, December 2001, hardcover). I haven't started reading it yet, but on the Acknowledgements page is the following (edited to leave out non-knife babble):
"Many thanks to ... and to Chris Reeve Knives of Boise, Idaho, for their valuable assistance in making this a more interesting book than it might otherwise have been."
I am very much looking forward to reading this book during the holidays, much more now that I know CRK had some input!
Caution: the book is very Libertarian in political outlook. If you're not for extreme liberty you might want to give it a pass.
