Chris Reeve Knives

First, welcome to BladeForums.

CR has his own forum on here, take a look for it under the manufacturers forums.

While all knives are personal preference, I have yet to see someone say CR knives are low quality.

stack up against what?

Purely on object quality, there are very few production knives that can match it. A good number of customs can't either IMO.

In subjective terms (eg how it looks, how it feels) it's not for veryone.

Welcome to the Forum :)

Use the search engine and typ in "Chris Reeve" , or "Sebenza", or "Mnandi", and you can read feedback until your eyes swell shut.

On the production side, Personally I have not found a folder that I like better. I have both Large and Small Sebenza folder models, and they are my absolute favorite of any knives I own.

Be Well, and have fun.

Like the fellas above me I'd suggest checking out the CRK forum, but let me put it this way: For about a year I was looking for the perfect folder and went through several companies and models trying to find the right knife. I finally discovered the CRK Sebenza and sold all but 3 of my other folders immediately after buying it. I carry it every day, and haven't bought another knife since. It's my favorite knife, I'm never without it. I could afford to have any one EDC folder, and that is the one I chose. Different people have different tastes, but I'd suggest checking one out. Try buying a used one on the forum, you could probably get a good deal!

Chris Reeve Knives have become the benchmark in which all others are compared. The Sebenza is the knife that every folding knife is compared to.

You guys have covered basically what I would have said! And DO check out the Chris Reeve forum here!

We used to get these threads once a week - "Is a sebenza worth the money?".

It's been a while, we're due.

That's a question I can understand asking, though. I remember first coming here, hearing all kinds of stuff about the Sebenza, looking it up, seeing the price and thinking "Wow, that crazy? How could such a simple folder cost so much? Is it really worth it?" It's a perfectly natural train of thought.

This however, is presented in a less believable manner. It seems put together to provoke to me.

If you're a true newbie, you've might not have heard of CRK.

The next question after quality is "Is it worth it?" heh, next week probably.

How do Chris Reeve and Darrel Ralph compare? My ideal knives are either: Sebenza with snakewood inlay and damascus blade, or Darrel Ralph Gunhammer MT with snakewood scales and damascus blade. (I like snakewood and damascus)
both are in the $600+price range.

i've by no means handled everything out there, but i have seen a lot, and the Sebenza is unmatched so far

i'm not sure on the fancy inlays and damascus versions, maybe when i have some extra money to spend on something like that i would pick one up, but i just use my Classic every day now

i'm not sure i could carry anything that nice looking and actually use it

the Sebenza wasn't the last folder i bought, but it's basically the last one i carried, and i haven't been looking for anything to replace it

I just bought my fifth one, 4 sebs and a mnandi. Top shelf all the way!

Where in Mississippi are you? I have two Sebenza's, I carry either one of those or my SnG everyday. If you aren't far, I'll meet you and you can see for yourself.

I just got my first Sebenza and i love it. I have no problems with it and only good things to say.

I've tried many knives and have resigned myself to only buying Chris Reeve products. They aren't cheap but they do what I need to do with a knife. They aren't everyones cup of tea but I think they will stand up to just about any other knife made. Of course in all honesty I can't say that this opinion is non biased. I think you can't go wrong with any product that comes out of their shop.  ;) :D
