pretty much the best production knives made. I would venture to say that is majority opinion.

Chris Reeve knives? Either you'll like them or you don't. I for one, like them and I have a few of them in my EDC collection. I like the quality, fit, and finish of them.

I think this is more of a personal opinion as opposed to a generally accepted fact. I suggest you try some cutlery that has been released from the Wauseon plant.

I was referring to Busse and Swamp Rat knives. The factory is located in Wauseon, OH. Let it be known that I don't mean to put down CRK by any means, I just don't believe A2 or S30V is better than INFI or SR-101.

Does Swamp Rat actually make the folder or do the contract it out to someone else? I was under the impression, based on reports of spare parts and repairs, that it was contracted out.

I don't know if the folder was outsourced or not but, here is what I do know. First of all, the folder is out of production. Even in case they used spare parts from third party supplier(s) still that doesn't mean that they didn't make the knife. Ferrari's use BREMBO brakes and KKK turbines yet still, they are pure bread Ferrari's to the bone:cool: .

You are sure to appreciate the craftsmanship of a CRK. Smooth, solid and sharp with a simple, but eligant design. Personally, I think less is more when it comes to design. Focus on the importance of the end use and not the fact someone wants to drool all over it while gazing at it. They look nice but perform as a knife should! And I am sure that is what Chris has in mind, pure functionional beauty.

Busse vs CR, very different personality. I was actually comparing my pals CR
Neil Roberts knife to my new Scrapyard Hook guard this evening.
They are both well made 7 inch recurves. I would say the CR was more of a fighting/survival knife and the Scrapper is more of a survival/fighter.
The Scrapyard is not nearly as nice a finish but if it was a Busse it would be a lot closer. I do have to give CR the edge on the coating when comparing a CG Busse. The coating on the CR's is so so nice although the rough Busse coating may last longer under hard use. Both knives have incredibly good warrantys.
They both have incredible secondary markets so if you decide you don't like the knife you bought it is probably worth more now anyway.
I can't afford either right now.

I will buy a large Sebenza and an anniversary Straight Handle Steel Heart budget be damned.
