Hi,

Sorry, but I had to pass on my good news and what better audience than fellow members of the Chris Reeve Knives Forum.
Last night I won the eBay auction for a Chris Reeve Large Classic Micarta Sebenza with double thumbstuds, Left-Handed for $325.55. I was so surprised when I turned on my computer today and found that I had won the auction. I hadn't planned on bidding for the item when I first saw the posting because I figured that it would sell for quite a bit more, but with less than 2 hours left until the end of the auction and a bid of only $295 being placed thus far and only 2 bids, I told myself, what the heck, place a bid and see what happens. The knife is not new. According to the seller, he has carried the knife in a pouch, but it has never cut anything and has been opened and closed less than 50 times. It has the box, wrench and all papers. I wasn't really looking for a Micarta Sebenza, I would have preferred wood, however I am now looking forward to getting my hands on it. I appreciate you allowing me to share my good fortune.

Thanks,

David

Nice score considering you snagged it for $125 less than what they go for. I have the same knife (lefty) with serrations and I love it and carry it more than my Large Regular Serrated.

Nice job! You won't be disappointed. :D

I have a large LH Micarta and it's one of my favorite Sebenbzas. I had the double thumblugs but found that they really tear up the pockets so I sent it back to Boise to have a single thumblug put on. Make sure you carry it and use it so you can truly appreciate it!

CONGRATS!! That is positively AWESOME! That is schaweeeeet!! Thanks for sharing that with us!!

I think that you actually might like the micarta inserts better than the wood-they are much more "grippy".

Great score and a great price! Congratulations on the lefty-from a lefty!:D

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks. It's kind of funny because I had just purchased on eBay a few days earlier, a second hand Left-hand Large Classic Plain Sebenza with BG-42 blade. Between the Left-hand Large Classic Plain Sebenza and the Left-hand Large Classic Micarta Sebenza, most all of my cutting needs will be met. My intention for purchasing the first knife was to have a good EDC working knife. I've been debating for months whether to EDC my Left-hand Large Regular Plain with Flat Grind Blade (only 5 made in Left-hand version). Now, I think it will remain in the drawer for the time being. I now need a Left-hand small Regular or Classic Plain Sebenza for EDC and as a working knife. My only small Sebenza's are a Left-hand 2003 Small LE in Curly Maple with swedge and double thumbstuds and a Left-hand Small Tom Mayo modified Sebenza with double thumbstuds which I am also hesitant to EDC and use as a working knife.
Again, thanks for everyone's comments. I'm very excited to finally have my EDC Sebenza's on the way.
Thanks, David

Oh a flat ground Sebbie in left hand version? That one and the Mayonized one probably should stay in the drawer.

I agree whole heartedly with you Scott Dog. Both the left-hand large flat ground sebbie and the left-hand small Mayonized sebbie will remain in the drawer. They both also have BG-42 blades. Now I am looking for a left-hand small sebbie as an EDC and working knife.

Thanks,

David

Yesterday I received my LH Micarta inlay back from CRK. I sent it in to have the double thumblug replaced by a single sided one because the double thumblug was tearing up my jeans. As usual, they did a great job and as a side benefit they put on an absolutely killer sharp edge. Life is good. :D ;) :p

Congrats that you got what you wanted and then some. Chris Reeve Knives never disappoints nor do they cease to amaze me with their customer service, if only all companies shared their same work ethic, life would be, not good, but incredibly great. I haven't seen my LH MIcarta Sebe as yet. I had it shipped to my home in North Carolina, however at the present I am in Thailand. I'm not comfortable with having it shipped here so I guess I'll just have to wait until my next trip back to the U.S. to get my hands on it.
