I saw one of these today and almost pulled the trigger and put it under the "got one of those" column in my small but growing collection.

I've thought about getting one before as the seem to be a pretty well made knife and a little unique as far as a production piece.

If anyone owns one could you give your opinion of them? Good knife? Useful?

It is a beautiful, and tough knife. I can't say enough good things about this knife.:thumbup:

Do check out the CRK section, under manufacturers.

I appreciate that. It's been a while since I've been on this forum and I completely forgot there is a Chris Reeves sub-section.

It's a fine knife. You can certainly cuts things with it. It's not just for show.

I remove the pocket clilp and carry the Mnandi in the leather slip cover.

It's my dress suit knife. Love it for that application.

Of course, now that I'm retired, I only get to carry it for weddings and funerals. Most of my life is lived in jeans with a Swamp Rat Rat Trap.

I prefer them to the small sebbie as an EDC . They are tuffer than they look .

The Mnandi is one of my favorite knives. I almost always have one with me. It's dressy enough to be non - threatening, tough enough to get the job done. And it's a great little cutter.

Man, I loved that knife. I'm jealous, I wish I never sold it. You carry yours and enjoy it every day!

I ordered one from CRK about a week or so ago. I can't wait for them to email me when it is done! I will let you know how I like it.

I love mine- it's my semi-dress knife (I got a WH for my Bday!)- but it's really my "by my TV chair" knife. Opens mail and packages and is the most satisfying "open and closer" I own!

Get one- you won't be disappointed and you won't be happy until you do!

Well I started this thread here so I guess I'll finish here.

Long story short, I went ahead and ordered a Mnandi from www.knifeart.com and received it earlier today.

You guys were right...it is a neat little knife. First thing I did was take the clip off and it's a thin solid feeling small folder. Beautiful? No. At least not asthetically speaking. But I can tell already that this is one I'll keep in the console of my truck and use often.

It's beauty lies in it's sleek utilitarian design. Probably not the toughest, especially when compared to the Sebenza, but tough enough...and super light.

I like it!:)

Thanks for the free reviews!!!

I think you'll like it. What inlay did you get?

I'm surprised you don't find it aesthetically pleasing. Its also a shame that some of you take the clip off, I think the Mnandi has one of the coolest clips.

It has the ebony inlay.

I do find it asthetically pleasing. It's just not what I would call a "beautiful" knife. I also agree with you that the clip is very well designed. You can actually clip it on to something fairly thick with no problem. But like I mentioned it will be carried mostly in the console of my truck or in my pocket. When I took the clip off and got a look at how thin it actually is that's when I decided it would be a shame to leave it on.

Most of my knives are one or two blade slipjoints. After you get used to carrying one "in" your pocket instead of "on" your pocket it's hard to break the habit I guess.

Speaking of slipjoints I've got one on the way that I've been waiting on for quite a while now. To me, it is a beautiful knife. I guess I'm just a traditionalist...or maybe I'm just old.

I just got an ebony inlay mnandi from plaza cutlery yesterday. Very beautiful knife, discrete carry, looks like a pen when in your pocket. will be my office EDC for a while.

It's a great little knife....at first I thought the small sebenza was the ultimate small carry but the Mnandi really is. It's an efficient light cutter, doesn't look like a knife but rather a pen in the pocket, is sheeple friendly, damn attractive knife and is of premium materials and flawless manufacture. No way you can go wrong with one of these.

All you need is primarily a Sebenza or Umnumzaan and this little guy for a light/sheeple friendly/dress carry.

I look at it as a modern day slippy.

Small enough to be 'office friendly', doesn't scare anyone when you open a box or cut fruit and it can be damn sexy too!
