Hello, first post here. Reason I joined this forum is because I have had this knife sitting in the drawer of my bedroom nightstand for about 4 years now. My wife is a bartender and she came home with this one night, she found it on the floor when she was putting up barstools at the end of her shift. I was gathering camping supplies today and decided to look it up, saw a post here and another on eBay where one of these knives sold in the $500 range. So whats the story with this particular knife? Why is it so valuable? Was it designed for a specific type use? Mine has been definitely been used and could probably use a sharpening, its by no means in collectors condition but still in good shape. What do I need to know?

Thanks,
D.

To get more answers you really need to be a paid member if you're wanting to know value and what not...and you can send it to Chris Reeves Knives for A restore and he will make it look like almost new except scratches on the blade..and will make it sharp as hell.. Also pics would be great!

You can go to the Chris Reeves Knives website for the price list.. Id figure around $75-$100 for sharpening, sandblast of Ti to make it like new, blade tumbling to remove surface scratches and a new clip.. Id email them and ask.. And bring this beauty back to life and use it!

Ive been reading up on these knives and there seem to be a few variables. Is there any way I can tell when mine was produced?

I believe they were produced from 1999 until 2002. If you disassemble and look on the back side of the frame it should be marked such as A02. The last two digits indicate the year. Note that this is the year the frame was manufactured, not the date the knife was assembled. It is entirely possible to have an A99 frame on a 2000 knife.

I would definitely echo all the "send it to CRK" comments. They will bring back to looking like new and I think could provide a box and maybe a"refurbish" birthday card.
