hi, which is more desireable and "better?" i know this has been discussed previously, but i have not been able to find any of the posts. thanks

If you like the spearpoint, than the I is better.

If you like the clip point than, the II is better.

I like clip points, and I have the II and I like it a lot. I got it here, the price was really right, and the hollow handle is actually cool. I keep a firestarter in mine, it came with it.

What do you want to do with it?

Best Regards,

Steven Garsson

They are both excellent knives.

Which tip do you like better?

I chose the Project I because I thought the tip might be a bit stronger, and it has turned out to be very strong.

I'm sure someone with a Project II has a similar reason/answer.

Buy both, and tell us what differences you notice.

well, im not sure if this is politically correct to say here, but, i would most likely be "hoping" to use it in a self defense regard since i'm the police and am always interested in the perfect knife to keep on my vest. i work in a pretty seedy area and it is highly conceivable that while struggling to retain my weapon, there may be the day when i need the quick backup. i carry a crkt crawford folder for my edc and i dont know if i have enough confidence in manual dexterity to open a folder in a struggle. then there is always the "hey, this is cool, check this out, factor as well..."
it seems as though i can never find the perfect pair of gloves, or the perfect knife that meets every need.

i'm actually kicking myself because i forgot to bid on a project 1 that was on ebay that ended up selling for $168. that was a HUGE miss

Based on the circumstances you describe it definitely sounds like you need a fixed blade.

I'd be tempted to go with the Project I, because I think the tip would be better for stabbing and prying.

I can just imagine the maker himself looking at this thread and thinking...
well, I can't imagine what he would be thinking, but the difference is negligible....

I think the difference is probbly pure preference, which is why the maker makes two versions.
