I've been offered a NIB Shadow III as a trade, and I was wondering if the value of the Shadow is gonna skyrocket as the one piece line has been discontinued...

The guy says this one has a birthdate just a few weeks ago, so could I potentially own one of the last Shadow III's made, making it very valuable, or would it just be another knife?

All CRK are valuable. The price will definately go up I am sure. How much, who knows ??? With the economy being crappy, probably not right away. But have them be gone a few years...............!!!

I don't know much about this but I agree with the above post, Once the "recession" is over and if these things are gone there is a chance the price is going to be quite high. But don't take my word for it, I only take marketing class. lol

Does anyone know why this is happening? because I am clueless as to why such an amazing looking knife would be discontinued. No offense Neil Robert or roberts, but one of the actual Chris Reeve style one piece knives is what would be on my order form...

The reason they are being discontinued is that the guy from south africa that does some of the initial handle milling wants to retire. Chris has had that part of the process still being done in SA. If they were made entirely here, the price would go up quite a bit I am sure, so after emailing them, they felt it was time to retire the line. It will surely be a sad day when they are gone for good.

If anything they should just make a new line that is equally lovable. Could you imagine if they discontinued sebenzas? People would riot in the streets lol!!!

i regret not getting any more, too late it seems

Its not too late. They are still making several models and CRK made so many, dealers will still have many in stock for some time even after they are discontinued. Now is as good a time as any to buy one !!!
