Well I've been looking at either a Chris Reeve Umnumzaan, Large Insingo Sebenza, Large Sebenza, Large Sebenza Unique Graphic.
Also I've been looking into a Strider SMF, SNG, or SJ75.

The question here is... should I do it?

I have around 40 knives. Only a few that I actually have an attachment to. So I could sell a bunch of them and get the money for one of the knives above.
I could do that. Or I could just get up the money for a ZT 0560/0561 or a DPX H.E.S.T. 2.0.

I'm wanting to get one of the knives...

Is it worth it?
And which one should I get?

Thanks,
Jessie

I like the large regular Sebenza best out of the knives your thinking about. SJ75 are built better than sngs or smf in my opinion. Striders disappoint me for what you spend on them and CRKs dont. You will probably end up owning all the knives your talkng about. Thats what happens to most of us. Id buy the Sebenza first.

I normally just trade for everything...
That's how I ended up with so many knives lol.
Yeah I have wondered about getting a Strider. I have handled one and just wasn't super impressed. Not for the money.

So I guess CRK would be what I need to get. Unless I get something else like the ZT 0560/0561, DPX H.E.S.T. 2.0, Spyderco Lionspy, Or I could just wait for the Tuff or the Brad Southard flipper.

Umnumzaan. I have Sebenzas but this is just a tank of a knife and just awesome.

Ive got all those you mention and to me, its a toss up between a micarta lg sebbie and the zaan. I actually carry the micarta sebbie the most though. My graphic sebbie is amazing but fills a different role. I'd hate to drop that one one the cement.

Depends on what you want to do with it.

Personally I would go with the Large Insingo if I had to select one of your offerings...but truth told, I would (and did) give away my CRK and focus on custom made knives that do EXACTLY what I want them to do.

There is no doubt CRK makes a fine knife, but it is perfect for YOU or is it just REALLY REALLY good for a LOT of people?

Strider? not going there.

ZT? Nice knives. You can expect good steel, solid design, outstanding warranty/customer service (and you will not likely need it), at a very attractive price.

Have fun.

Depends on your knife personality :D

I at one time collected knives that caught my eye. Now I buy for function and quality. You also have tactical vs casual, you loading mags or puttin on a dress?

I don't dress up much so I like the ZT and strider types, I have also refined my likes and dislikes, handle styles, steels, textures, finishes, lock type, grind type, and makers. Knives such as the ones you have listed are in a different class of knife and offer a option for each knife personality.

Now, IMO.

The hest :thumbdn: real thick blade grind and handle felt awkward.
Strider, hit or miss on lock fitting but I've never seen one that looked like it would fail. I like the flat ground spear blade SNG's and if you get one in S30V look for a older one with the Bos HT logo.
CRK, very smooth and classy.
0560, probably the best of them all.

I just want a good knife that I'll love and use and that will most likely kick all of the others out of my pocket.
Which truly I guess is asking a lot.
My current EDC set up is: Spyderco Chokwe, Kershaw Skyline, Old Cross Victorinox Silver Alox Electrician, along with a pen and flashlight.

There is nothing wrong with my set up as I love it and can't seem to get the Chokwe out of my pocket. I just tied a new lanyard for it last night actually because I don't see it leaving my pocket. Until maybe I end up getting this knife I'm trading for...

But I don't know. I just want a knife that I know will be in my pocket for a long time and that I will love and feel I could never replace. Really my Chokwe couldn't be replaced, but its spot in my pocket could. I want I know I just cannot for any reason put down.

My Chokwe and Electrician are my two current favorites.

I don't know, maybe I should just hold off for a while? Really figure out what I want and should get. I handled an Umnum once and really fell in love with it. I just love the Insingo blade shape and that's the main Sebenza I'm considering.

But the fact is... I just don't know if the Umnumzaan or Insingo would be irreplaceable.

I often rotate between the SnG and Umnumzaan for carry.
But lately the 0550 has kicked them out of the pocket, and it certainly is more ergonomic for actual extended usage. (plus, you can buy different coloured scales to "dress it up")

I'm going to look into a few knives.. decide what I want.. what I absolutely just HAVE to have.
It'd be better to decide before selling off all of my knives lol.

If you end up going with a Umnumzaan or Sebenza, hang onto it for a while. Use it and carry it. It's hard to appreciate any knife really unless you incorporate it into your daily life as a useable tool, rather than just an accessory. My choice would be the Umnumzaan, preferably an older model.

My knives are much more than an accessory. =]
I love to use my knives and use any excuse possibly to flick my knife out of my pocket and use it for something lol.

Absolutely.:)
The Umnumzaan would be better with a different clip design though. The "tail" of the clip digs into the hand uncomfortably when using it. It doesn't matter for light usage, but for extended use, it gets damned annoying.:(
If one were to remove the clip and carry it in a pouch, this would not be an issue though. The blade design itself is great.

Pick the one that you like the best as you are the one that will be using it.

I think the ZT 0550 or the ZT 0560 would give you the feeling that you got more than you paid for. Those knives are amazing and also great values for what you get, roughly half the price of the CRK offerings. The CRK you get what you pay for and you wouldn't be disappointed, but not amazed for what you spent.

The striders will leave you wondering why you spent so much...

Meh, I'm happy with my Striders.
But the ZT's ARE great value for the money.:) They're the best "bang for the buck" in frame-locks right now.

I've decided on three options:
Boker Anso 67 + Boker Subcom Titan
Boker Epicenter + Boker Subcom Titan
Or a ZT 0560/0561
