Anyone have experience with a Chris Reeve-William Harsey design made by the Italian manufacturer Fantoni with Sandvik steel and aluminum handles?

It was a limited run in 2010 and was said to be a predecessor design to the Zaan.

They ran about $200 or so, and never really found much of a market here. Not a bad knife, but for the price I decided to either keep saving for a real CRK or find a nice Spyderco or ZT to get me by.

btw - as Umnumzaan came out in 2008, the Razionale was introduced after the Boss was already on the market.

Thanks, Niels. I've read that and everything else I could find on the Fantoni brand but haven't found much on the Reeve-Harsey Razionale.

It is similar in design to several current Fantoni models, but with Sandvik steel instead of S30V and aluminium handles instead of G10.

I did find a vid by the Neptune Knives guy, who rated it very highly.

The Razionale seems to have disappeared -- I'm guessing that most of the 200 production limited edition ended up in collectors' safes.

Too bad it wasnt of any help! Checked my dutch resources, but I cannot provide any more info! Let alone a possible knife!!

You might wanna try a european forum in the items wanted department?!

Good luck

Somone on flea bay is selling what he calls the "CHRIS REEVES DESIGN TACOPS."

This "Falcon" -- not "Falconi" product -- looks and has specs just like the Razionale. Except that it has what looks like holes in the sides of the aluminum handles and a partially-serrated blade.

I was curious enough to ask for more information.

Update: the seller responded to my questions, saying:

"It's definitely a Chris Reeves & Bill Harsey Design, it's made in Italy specifically for Tactical & Survival Specialties Inc. (TSSI) As far as the Knife they modeled this one after, I have no idea, but I can 100% say it's not a knockoff. TSSI calls this knife the Falcon and I purchased the Falcon knife directly from TSSI in both the "Spear point" and the "Modified Tanto" point They also carry a limited edition Desert Falcon that comes in a wooden knife display and a company challenge coin."

Can anyone verify this?
It sure as heck looks like the Razionale, with decorative holes in the handle and partially-serrated blade.

Other than that pivot I am not seeing anything holding that knife together. How would one take this apart and maintain it?

Edit: I just watched the full vid and he mentioned this in the review and he doesn't understand how this works either.
