These 2 knives manufacturers I see alot of on the internet, a lot of information dating back a few years.

Are they still worth the investment since other companys can offer many years of warranties on their locking mechanisms etc, or are other companys still way behind?

if I buy one am I buying a label these days or have other knife companys just not advanced at all, are they now in a more collectable category? Or are they really the real deal compared to fallkniven or spyderco or kershaw etc or whatever other company that mass produces folding knives.

There are as many different answers to that question as there are members on this forum. Get one and see how you feel about it. One of the nice things about high-end knives is how easy it is to recoup your investment if you decide you don't like something.

Your question is subjective. There is no right or wrong answer, just opinions. I want and will buy a Sebenza when I can do so. Quality is important to me, I will pay for it.

I have owned both. Sold the strider kept the crk. Although I absolutely love my sebenza, knowing what I know now I would save a little more and just buy a custom.

The CRK and the Strider folders are both classic, outstanding folders. Get one of each, if you can.

Yarrrrr......

It is amazing that these two knife companies get compared so often. I can't think of more dissimilar knives.

And the question of value...

I don't know man. You tell me.

I agree with this! You get what you pay for and in the knife world.

I have an Umnumzaan, even though it has kind of the best quality/F&F, it does look boring. If I were you I would get a strider.

Somevof you wont cope with the contaversy of this question. But here goes. Thought general knife forum would be best for the question.

If you have the ways and means, pick up either one and try it out for yourself. It's the only way to be sure. If you don't like it, you won't have a hard time selling/trading it off.

First of all, thanks for being willing to lower yourself to our level. I'll try to cope with the contaversy as best I can.

I've been reading about the Sebenza for eighteen years - as long as I've been learning about knives via the Internet, and almost as long as I've owned decent knives. I own knives from the brands you mention, among others.

They all cut.
None of them are perfect.
The Sebenza Insingo comes the closest.

I have a couple of both. Both serve different purposes for sure, but both are good in their own way, from my experience.

You are correct. I can't cope! Blaaaa! Mick Strider! Flicking! Lynn Thompson! SanRenMu! Rostfrei! Smatchet! Too deep for me to deal with!

I'm not at all sure what you are asking, but the only one who can answer the question of whether or not a CRK or Strider is worth the investment is you. Cope with that. We can't tell you if spending CRK or Strider money is "worth" it to you.

They are all excellent knives, and so are Spyderco, Kershaw, Benchmade, etc. They all cut things.

In accordance with the international governing body of all knife forums this, the 10,365th "Are Strider and CRK knives worth it?" thread has cause one cute kitten from teh lolz katz to be killed and eaten. Way to go, sport. By the way, the spelling/grammar police have been notified.

Could we amend the rules to reflect that users must also be capable of communicating at 13 year old's level of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic intellect?

Sheesh.

I'll spend $400+ dollars on a Sebenza when they make them out of M390 or S90V,...or maybe even Elmax. To spend that kind of money on a Knife made with S30V is silly in my opinion. I feel my Spydies and Benchmades are just as good of a quaility made knife. I pay more for higher end steel. S30v/S35vn is good but looses a shaving razor edge to easily. It maintains a good working edge very long but I like my knife shaving sharp. but thats just me.

I don't recommend Strider for obvious reasons.
I do recommend CRks though!
If it's worth it for you or not only you can answer that!
