I've been looking at a high quality fixed blade for camping and hiking along with general EDC purposes. I love the looks of the CRK Green Beret 5.5'. It has the perfect size im looking for, and it just looks stunning. My question is are CRK's fixed blades a good purchase for the uses I stated above? I have a CRK Zaan and absolutly love it and its quality. Im sure the quality of CRK's fixed blades match it's folders, but I figured I'd ask anyways!

Also I ask this question bescause I dont see a lot of threads about their fixed blades very often, and I want to know you're experiences with them.

Thanks,
Zack

My favorite camp knife is the CRK Neil Roberts Warrior. Feel great in the hand, and I've done a ton of chopping and batoning for fire prep with no resulting hot spots (so to speak :)). I tend to NOT sharpen the knife as often as I should -- maybe once every couple of years -- because it holds an edge exceedingly well. Love the subtle recurve. I use the optional leather sheath from CRK, which has held up nicely through countless camp outings.

All the best in your search!

Ah yes the Warrior is great! I was looking at that as well, unfortunately its sold out everywhere. Probably because its such a great blade! Have you seen the pacific? It looks similar to the warrior just a half inch bigger.

Zack, CRKs makes a great fixed blade. I have 3 of them. All with the same quality as their folders. Can't go wrong your choice, of the 5.5" GB.

I have had the Neil Roberts and used it to clear some shooting lanes, make walking sticks and just general outdoor use. It was a great blade, I am just personally not into recurve blades............I currently have a Pacific and it feels amazing in hand. Its a nice big blade too that will easily do anything the Neil Roberts did........I also have a 5.5 GB. I like its blade shape over the 7" version simply put that it shorter length makes it stouter and stronger. I have listed it for sale only because out of the 2 that I have, I see the Pacific fitting my needs more than the 5.5 GB. They are all of the highest CRK quality. The 3 that I had were all in S30V. I believe now they are made in S35VN. The handles are so very comfortable and also slightly grippy, so hands will not slip under heavy use. The Neil Roberts has been discontinued and I have seen prices climb a little on them depending on where you get one from. Out of the 3, I like the Pacific the best, but you cant go wrong with any of them if another blade profile suits your interests more.
