Manufacturing Quality Award 2009 -> Chris Reeve!
Kitchen Knife of a Year 2009 -> Chris Reeve!!!

Been there, seen that! Congrats Chris :)

Getting these awards all the time must be getting pretty boring for him now :p:thumbup:

Keeps on making great knives..............

Keeps on getting awards. Pretty simple really :D

They should rename the award the Chris Reeve Manufacturing Quality Award so they could get on with honoring the next best every year! :D

I'm glad to see the Sikayo honored. I am looking forward to trying them out.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Reeve and all at CRK.

I'll feel a little extra pride while carrying my 9 year old Sebbie today.

dan :)

I agree. Pulling out my Sebenza and Mnandi this morning, I took a little more pride in knowing that it has once again been confirmed they are among the highest quality pocket knives produced anywhere by anyone. I don't think it can be overstated how important of an award this is for CRK to continue receiving given their marketing angle and target audience.

Unable to make it to Blade this year, I've been anxiously awaiting this post!

Congrats!

Geez...I was on the fence concerning his kitchen knife  Looks like I may take the plunge

Congrats to all at the shop ;)

Chris D. :D

My wife is gonna think I am nuts.

I own six Global Kitchen knives but I will have to try out a CRK kitchen knife now.

:D

Congrats to a man and team that deserve it!

Is there any news on blade so far? It seems still a bit limited on the forums?

I went by their booth. No new folders this year. the kithchen knives look really interesting, the blades seem to have a really unique edge. I'm having trouble trying to describe it. If you layed it down flat like you were going to push cut through a flat surface the edge would only hit in two or three places, sorta like extremely large serrations. (three bumps and valleys for the whole length of the blade, not deep, but very gradual, smooth waves.) the knives only have a scale on one side...I'm not sure if I like that or not yet. They had a demonstration area where you could cut veggies and stuff but I didn't try them out. I can use just about any knife in the kitchen, my wife is the picky one, and she wasn't there to try them out. I just realized I may have been looking at the new bread and slicing knife, I didn't inspect the edges of all of them and looking at CRK site, I don't see the wavy serrations, on the other ones.

The kitchen knives use the new S35V steel from crucible, but no word on when or if that will become the regular steel in the folders.

I was hoping for an umfaam reintroduction. Oh well, maybe next year.

Later GDWTVB
