Help Chris!
Can the pivot on a Blink be unscrewed?
You know, for cleaning and such?
Has it been peened into place or what?
Is it a lock tight screw or a rivet?
The pivot on mine is very gritty but I do not want to send it back.
If I can't clean the knife properly then I don't want it.
Please give me the lowdown on the Blinks pivot.
Thanks

I just talked to the repair department about the details of the Blink, as I have never disassembled one. From what they told me, it can be disassembled. The pivot can be unscrewed, I think it is a really small Torx drive and some lock tight is applied to the pivot. The thing to be epically aware of is that the Blink does have a coil spring inside and can be rather difficult to put back properly unless you know how it goes together. If you are adventurous and fairly mechanically inclined with the right tools you could most likely take it apart and put it back together properly. I would be epically careful of small parts that might go flying once you take it apart.

If you are unsure and it needs to be cleaned I would just send it back to SOG for a good once over.

I hope this helped you out.

Thanks
Chris
