Finally I got to get out in the woods today and hack with my Rattlehawk. What an awesome tool! I'm amazed at how well it chopped and just whizzed though small stuff as I worked on widening some ATV paths. SR101 is really impressive steel, I even whacked a few rocks accidentally and seen no edge chipping or even misalignment. Thanks SWRW for making a high quality product. Only downside I see with the RH is your have to be careful with it, I got bit once a little on the leg, and once on the hand when wiping it down after the fun. Super sharp edge from Alex. Gonna have to grab a kill devil sometime to pair it up with. My poor wife.....:) (Sorry about thread title typo, getting a bit sleepy, long day in the woods.)

Nice! I was really surprised how deep the Rattlehawk bites into hard wood.

Hey Swamp... they don't bite unless they love you, man.

Busse's heat treat on 52100 is something special.

Anyway, I don't own a Ratllehawk... thanks for the temptation. Yeah... thanks a lot!

You won't regret it, your wallet will for a little bit, but that sting wears off quickly when you start swinging this thing through some trees!

Nice work! I took mine to the lake but instead of testing it I decided to spent the day drinking... I mean fishing on the dock. Next time....

Haha, yeah I think drinking + Rattlehawk would mostly likely end in a trip to the ER, at least for me. Heck, I cut myself twice, with no drinks. You'll like it once you get hacking some stuff. The handle is super comfortable, and remains very grippy even when wet. I found the sharpened backside of the beard useful for doing pull cuts on briars and vines, very handy!

I really want one of those too. I no longer have a Crash Axe, and need a Busse kin hawk bad. Sweet looking blade, and sounds like your happy with its performance. Congrats.
