Christensen Knifeworks Custom Spyderco Southard

Matthew took my stock Spydie Southard flipper, and turned it into a custom flipper fit for show!

  • Replaced the stock G10 scale with a beautiful Lightening Strike Carbon Fibre (LSCF) scale
  • Tumbled and refinished all the hardware to have a rugged working finish, instead of the polished mismatch that was stock
  • Anodized bronze what needed to be to finish off this beauty
  • Fashioned a LSCF lock bar stabilizer.

I can't thank Matthew enough here. His work is top rate, and I would with good conscience recommend him anytime to do a great job.
This blade is so stellar now, it has exceeded my expectations!
Matt... get ready for a ton of business! Thanks Brother!

Nice looking mod....looks great..but this isn't a custom. I'm going to move this to General.

Looks great. I may be biased though, I too prefer the Southard when redone in LSCF:

Looks really good......the knife isn't bad either. :p

Oh yes, thats some extremely nice work there. The LSCF is a huge improvement..

Looks great, but I'm surprised you didn't ask for a thinner CF scale to make both sides match.

Both knives look much better than the stock version. A piece of Ti would also be a nice improvement for the lock stabilizer.

I thought of doing something like this to my Southard, but the knife is a little small for my EDC tastes, so I didn't bother.

I looked and thought this was the best home... albeit still a production knife that is customized.. I just didn't know where else to file it. Thanks!

Hi... the thickness and squared off shape was by design, as I already had a custom Lifter's Leather sheath made for the original, and I wanted the knife to fit. Matt and I discussed thickness and shape (ergos) to fit the hand etc... and settled on this so it would feel good, but still fit my sheath.
