hope you all had a wonderful christmas, at the kerley house all manner of sharp and pointy were given and received. My son received a case russlock amber bone, an old western whittler that was my grandads and a pakistani pocket axe that cost him a penny (from a close family friend who bought it years ago on a whim!) not the best knife but for a 12 year old it gets a big:thumbup:
my dad gave me a case yeller trapper, its used but FF is wonderful and walks and talks! nice knife and my first trapper! anybody tell me what year it is (its got 4 dots)? and its not marked SS or CV? The box says CV but may not be the original, dunno enough about these things... Anybody tell me what i got? also the scale pins are a bit recessed and ive seen some on ebay that look the same, is this common? either way im liking it and its much bigger than i thought:thumbup:
enough jabbering heres the pictures:D
cheers

If it is not marked SS then it is CV, this one is from 1996 I believe.

For info on the way Case dated their knives you can look here: http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/wr_case/about_case_knives/date_identification.php

many thanks!!! i have seen that but what threw me is not seeing the long tail case like it appears on my trapper, had me all confused:D Im relatively new to case all the others i have were purchased new, so little mystery.
Thanks for the lead on the website
cheers

Very good looking Whittler there!

Next you can opt for a CASE Slimline Trapper in yellow, a long knife that takes up next to no room surprisingly enough.
