He may kill me for posting this, but I could not sit on it.
This is a pic Ron Newton sent me of a knife he just completed.

Wow, You see a few knives done in the Price style, but not many in t S. Bell's. Beautiful knife, really neato:D:).

Yowza - that's a beaut allright! Any details, any at all?

Cheers,

Roger

So, you're the Bastid that got that one? :) I love it. Ron sent me that pic last week, but said it was going to some other collector. Awesome catch, Gus.

No not me. All I have is the pic and it makes me smile.
As far as specs. It is all Ron's work (engraving and carving too) in his rendition a Bell design or theme. I am guessing that the sheath is silver and it looks like some older elephant ivory between silver (ferrule and butt) of the handle. Odds are the blade is forged :).

I had to reduce the size of the pic.

Gus,

Just was reading the latest ABS magazine featuring this as the 2003 ABS knife style. What could possibly represent it better? Every
criteria is here before me. WOW!!
Ron is just a super maker and a really nice person to work with.
While I'm at it, those of you that aren't members of the ABS need to join. They are a great group of makers and the magazine is quite informative. $30.00/year and well worth it.

Thanks Gus! what an intricate knife that is! Wild!

I love seeing pictures like this. Every time I see one of Ron's knives it just makes me feel better that I have one on order. It will be a couple of years before my name comes up, but that's ok. I'm very patient and I have always got pictures like this to look at. I am in awe of this makers talent.

You have company Keith...lol :) Wow!

Looks like I am in good company on that list.
I also agree with Win that collectors of forged knives need to do everything they can to support the A.B.S. It is worth the thirty bucks to get the quarterly magazine plus you are helping to support a group of folks dedicated to spreading their knowledge.

Gus, you KNOW I love that one! :) That is awesome. Ron's work is beautiful!

The style is now a little familiar to me too. Hmmmmm.... Ken Durham comes to mind....

Thanks for the posting. (Gotta get me that book you guys are talkin' about in the other forum now!!!)

Awesome. The sheath is a nifty trick! BTW, those were also the Moran contest knives 2 (or 3?) years ago, and the pics of the winning knives are worth hunting down.
