Christmas bowie maybe

During deer hunting my father mentioned a knife that he was fond of as a younger man that his father had brought back from Germany during Korea. He didn't know the brand or anything about it except that it had a stag handle with the lion's head on it and that it was a really good high carbon blade. I have kind of looked at Linder and Boker but was not sure if those blades would stand up to his expectations. Any advice? Thanks!
