The first part of the present from my wife came today, and she said opening it was a go as I have to work Christmas Eve and Christmas.
So, what do we have here then...
The Tops Knives Cockpit Commander!!!
I'd show you some in-hand shots, but a viscious beast chased me away from my knife:
Impressions:
The micarta scales are nicely contoured, and the liners are a nice touch. The sharpened swedge is sharp, but it's a rather obtuse angle. It works good for opening boxes in reverse grip, pulling backward.
The choil allows for grabbing the knife in a normal hammer type grip for use. In fact, the handle supports all grip styles other than reverse grip edge in, and if you care about the such things, the sharpend swedge takes care of that.
Tactical death machine or emergency woods knife? Depends on how you view the marketing:
-The sheath has a drainage hole to get rid of rain outside.
-But it's stabby.
-It comes with a safety whistle, great for the woods.
-It has what look like bow drill pivot points in the micarta...or are they indexing indents?
-Safety ring or "death-fighting retention ring"?
Now I must see if the dwarf hamster will give me my knife back.
