Christmas Camo: G10 Thickness

I just picked up a digicamo CQC7 off of eBay (probably from one of you). The G10 on this guy is thick...and I dig it! I like the way it fits my hand.

Are all CQC 7s now like this? The last one I had was a 2004 or 05 and it didn't feel this thick. I have a modern 15 and it's also not this thick.

I think they are all thicker now.. also the liner are thicker.

I compared mine with other years. For instance a 2000 Commander is thin compared the the 2013 Commander.. then the green Jungle" 2013 Commander is even thicker than the regular black G10 2013 commander.. also the Jungle has more grippier rough G10.

I like the variety of them all. The Jungle is more grippy I think because it has a black blade and is made perhaps with more wet conditions in mind..also , I would think (for tactical self defense purposes) it would be less likely to slip if blood covered it..
 
I got home this evening and compared this to my CQC-15, which is also a 2013 and the CQC-15 is definitely a little slimmer. Or rather they are "standard" -- as in they are the same thickness as all the other Emerson knives I've owned in the past.

Colubrid, I noticed your signature. I have a HD-7. Awesome specimen. I lucked out on eBay and found one that was truly like new. It's not for sale, but just saying good luck with your search. Don't know why I'm typing all this. Now I feel like a dick. Sorry. I'll shut the #$%@ up now. :)

Hey, we're all knife enthusiasts and are here to talk about what we have in the stash. My other big win is a Zero Tolerance 0561, Serial #0002. Yeah. 2nd one ever made. Another complete and utter lucky grab. :)

yes they are thicker now, not sure when exactly that happened but i know their thicker now. The grip texture on that model isn't like that for the black models. All the special patterned models have that style of grip, but the black models have a more abrasive texture.
 
The black g10 is thinner than any other g10 variation that emerson does I believe.
