Christmas is coming. Let's see some Christmas-themed knife photos

There's no specific Christmas theme in the pic, but it's definately the right season.

Here's how it works:

Post your favorite Christmas Themed knife photo in this thread by Midnight Pacific time on Wednesday, December 19th. (deadline moved back one day to allow for e-mail exchange of mailing address so that the prize can be delivered by New Years, hopefully.)

The winner will receive a very nice bottle of Champagne suitable for New Years.

The judge is me, and the decision of the judge is final unless shouted down by the overwhelming majority of those present (a good provision when the overwhelming majority of those present are carrying knives).

Unfortunately, due to customs issues surrounding import and export of alcohol, only US entries are eligible for the prize.

By entering, each contestant warrants that he is may legally receive a bottle of Champagne.

Please refrain from commenting on other entries so as not to bias the judge.

Fun idea....thanks Chuck!

Well, some very nice entries... and Tom Mayo too.

Mr. Sylvester's is cute.

I like Mr. dson's very much. I'd make a nice holiday card.

But, the winner is Mr. Tmac's second entry. I like the colors reflecting in the knife. The candy cane on the right is the perfect touch.

So, a 1997 Argyle Brute from Argyle Vineyards right here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon is on its way. From my cellar to yours just in time for New Years. I'll be e-mailing you to arrange the details.

God willing, we'll do this again next year.

Wow, thanks Chuck!! Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to participate in your contest and your generous offering with the bottle of champagne. I will raise a glass to you on New Years. After this my wife may not look at me as if I were nuts next time I try to hang a knife from the tree and take a picture (fat chance).

All the entries looked pretty nice. I liked dson's, that would look very nice under any tree. And Tom's pic of Mayo, Hossom and Onion is always nice during the holidays . :p  :p :D

Thanks again Chuck, very much appreciated.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

Take care,
Tom

P.S. Chuck, as the Musical Director of BF's give me a ring when you are going to start auditions. I'll be happy to add my talents to the Saxophone section. Maybe get the band together in time for a Christmas concert next year. ;)

Beautiful tree and the knife were'nt bad either. Raise a glass for the rest of us. Thanks Chuck for the contest maybe we can do it again next season. ld

We have no sax section, sorry. Bladeforums.com is the only on-line knife discussion site with its own Marching Marimba Band! Visualize 186 marching marimbas! The sound is like nothing else. Yes, the Internet, the only venue big enough for a 186 piece Marching Marimba Band!

But, you can certainly offer a toast to the BF.C Marching Marimba Band as you enjoy your Argyle Brut.

Marimba!!! First a bottle of champagne, next knowing BF's has Marching Marimba Band! This is a childhood dream, just think I've wasted 26 years studying the Saxophone. My second web home is http://www.marimba.org/ . I've got years of Marching experience, with Assistant Drum Major qualifications to boot. Although marching with Marimba would be challenging, but I'm up to it. So, if you could swing it (pardon the pun) please let me be the 187th member of the Bladeforums Marching Marimba Band. Thanks.

To everyone else I certainly will make a toast to the participants of Bladeforums and the BF.C MMB.

============================================

On a serious note let's all make a toast to all the men and women who are here and overseas helping battle the fight against terrorism and those cleaning up and helping the families who have lost loved ones. Make a special prayer for those families who have lost, with a hope that life, and the years to come will improve, and what will be left is the happy memories of love gained instead of love lost.

Tom

Congratulations Tmac.., it was a very nice shot.., enjoy your prize!! That's some good stuff!

Well, if you're the webmaster over on marimba.org, I guess we can fit you in as 187. You'll have to work hard, though. Right now, we're working up an all Marimba arrangement of the score from Porgy and Bess. You haven't lived until you've heard 186, now 7, marimbas play You Is My Woman Now. Last year's arrangment of Gershwin show tunes was so popular that this year we're doing a medley of Sousa marches. Plus, as if that's not enough, you're gonna have to get up speed on our all Marimba arrangement of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, which has never been done by any marching marimba band before.
