Christmas is the Winter Olympics of simple daily blade tasks for me. Tape, cardboard, tie wraps, rubber bands, variety of plastics, clam shells, fruit, nuts, pie, meats. You know the drill.

I chose the BM CLA Magnacut for Christmas Eve, which is intense on years with the wife's family, Latina heritage. Lot's of kids and gifts. She did swimmingly, cut down every task with grace.

Christmas morning, was the standard traditional Merican format, for this I selected the Godson Del Fuego. Knife did well, though I did hesitate handing it to others. I found out that the sharp, but thin tip had me not trusting their judgment. Both in personal safety and the welfare of said blade.

What model did you all select to represent and showcase your prowess in the sport? Or perhaps you gat a new one as a gift. How did it go?

Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!

I was carrying a PM2 in K390 steel. I only cut open a few packages but I cut my ham at lunch today.

Yeah man. When nobody was looking, I got at that ham and turkey all slicey like. There was a honeydew melon side eying me. Sure wanted to see that Godson puncture and slice. But I couldn't think of a defense for shanking my brother inlaws produce that didn't leave my crazy hanging out. lmao!

My Christmas haul, minus one Cold Steel Lucky:

Used a Recon 1 tanto to open gifts at first, because I’m a classy guy. Opened the Ka-Bar with it, then switched to carrying the Ka-Bar for opening gifts. Used it to open one of the Vic’s, and you can guess the rest.

My Christmas carry was the Sebenza (for basic cutting), Victorinox Wine Master (for obvious reasons ;)), and an alox Compact (for scissors). Also used the full compliment of kitchen knives of course

The only knife I used on Christmas was a Santoku; but it performed its duty admirably.

Oops, I lied. I also used my Shun Higo-no Kami, which performed as well as expected. (It has yet to disappoint)

I scored a recon brand knock off of the leatherman trauma shears in gold and glow in the dark.

Which work quite well.
