Ahhhhh! im SpLeeeshhlelsss! Tibetan knife is way cool! There it is CrystalEyes! Jump on it! Another Chiruwa Siru!
Wow that neem handle!

That Tibetan mini knife is Sweeeeeet! I might have to call Santa on that one. WAIT! Great gift for my daughter? Ok if mom says ok I'm gonna tell everybody it's for my daughter but I don't suspect mom is gonna say ok.
She's still an awesome thing and I wouldn't feel unmanly owning it neither.

The wood on that Amar Singh, is astounding. Beautiful beyond words.

Great offerings today. That Sirupati looks leaner than most. Very nice lines, and chiruwa handle, too.

The Neem handle on the ASTK has an interesting pattern. Neem wood is really good stuff. Look closely at the ring in the closeup photo of the handle. That well-defined edge is something you don't see often. Most woods won't take an edge like that. Even the satisaal handles don't usually have such a nice edge on the ring.

The downside is that it might cut into the palm of your hand. If so, you can carefully file off a tiny bit of the edge to blunt it on the palm side. I've done that before and the change is barely visible. But I'd be reluctant to do it with this handle, even if it's intended for heavy use. I'd rather wear gloves.

EMS sent on the Tibetan knife. My daughter's great-great-grand aunt was a Tibetan nun, so it's an appropriate gift for her. You see Tibetan knives of this style of E-bay every once in awhile, but they're of a much lower quality and more expensive. I hope I get it :)

great offerings-- yeah just saw those on ebay you were talking about looked like absolute trash beside these-- saving for a hanshee or nice m43 or i would pick one up

Wow that Tibetan knife is incredible:)

LOVE that ASTK wood. Simply astounding.

Tks for sharing n your advice David . Very happy that I manage to get this beautiful knife . Upon closer look, indeed the ring looks sharp. Will use gloves if I ever need to use it for chopping. The knives produced by HI are all beautiful art pieces with high standard of workmanship . Can see from YouTube how well they perform but luckily my place here do not have many trees to cut! So my lucky knives will remain in pristine condition !

the tibetan knife is from eastern tibet & also that style is popular in Bhutan, where it is known as a 'dossum', comes in short knives to long swords. this offered one has a very well made grip and scabbard. they were traditionally made out of hairpin laminated steel, so you might get lucky. the ones made for the bhutanese usually have a dragon on the scabbard, the symbol of bhutan.

here's the king of bhutan with his at his coronation:

note it is worn on the right like a roman legionary gladius.

Wow, good info. I'm sure ndog will want one like the King there maybe longer, I'm kind of partial to the one Auntie offered.

Your's is also amazing, looks very well done. As always I'd love to see one in person, although the temptation I'm sure would be even worse.

I would like to see the kings but I wouldnt want him to unsheath it on my account:eek: That little one might make a good neck knife.

I can never get that Rajkumar fighting sword and that chicken out of my mind! Id have to clear that image before I buy any more swords:thumbup:

You don't consider my future inheritance Giant Bowie a sword? That's it, I'm going back out to the cave and unsheath my katana. Haven't held it since yesterday!

Watch Hawaii Five O last night, it was good. About Pearl Harbor and back 70 years. A japanese internee at one of the camps had his family Katana stolen and of course McGarrett got it back for him in the end. It was a beauty and not a bad show for TV now days.

Might throw a little wax on the Giant, keep it pretty for me huh? Should I be calling you Daddy or Uncle or something?

Absolutely GCB is a sword! I keep a light coat of mineral oil on her. All my Khuks get checked regularly for dry handles and any potential dry spots on the blades. Right after i bought my 25" Siru i wiped it down with mineral oil and put it away and next day noticed it tarnished to grey! Phreeked me out! Mineral oil didnt work? What the heck? Later my wife said she used it for something and left it out in the rain with the cap off. got rid of that oil quickly and got some new stuff. Tarnish came right off though with one of those 3000 grit auto polish sponges. Wheeew! I do need to get some wax of some kind to use on blades i dont use as often tho.

Whatever you call me will be better than what most call me! Just dont call me late for a DOTD:thumbup:
Yep Hawaii Five-O was a great show. First of the great cop shows of my time! My friends at my last job all called me Danno. Book em Danno! I dont have any friends at my present job. They are all scared of knives:eek:
