The cleaver is gorgeous. I am also drooling over that foxy folly.   Great deals!

There is a certain irony here:
This is one of the best HI Christmas DOTD runs I have ever seen---the Kamis are on a roll, there are new models, improved models, new wood, new colors etc. And all of these fantastic offerings are arriving at a time when the economy, at least my economy, is hurting. It's all too bittersweet.

The 15 inch Ang Khola by Sher...what a workhorse for the money.;)

oh jeeshhhhh....
2 that Ed would like and he's still at the Doctor....
Sirupati by Sher & Bura Bowie by Bura....
Things are too snug here To make such a decision alone.....
Ah, if it is meant to be, It will be there when he gets home.

And as Above.... I agree Such BEAUTIFUL items At a time when things are Snug.... but just think....
MANY of the Kamis & their Families would be happy with what we call snug.

Blessed Be,
Willow aka: Mrs. DocH

Hey Bladite,

Check out the kami mark on the blade. That's Sgt. Khadka's topi hat mark. Just a typo by Yangdu. Did you see the two yesterday? A 14 and a 12. Don't know if these few are the first ones in those sizes, but I was lucky enough to get the 14" to go with my 18.

Still think these Bonecutters look a bit like the very early Ganga Rams before the design morphed into what we have today. They don't match exactly the symmetrical leaf pattern of the old GK Bonecutters Praj used to make, but are close.

Too bad, as those were exceptional looking blades (Hollow has a pair), but these HI's are very good and typically hell for stout.

I wrote to Praj years ago and never heard from him. He finally wrote back months later, but by then I was handing my paychecks over to Uncle Bill and wasn't interested, and figured he wasn't reliable and I could do without them. Wish I had followed through.

a couple Praj khuks would be fine by me (used these days i'm sure). and yes, they and the bonecutters in general look like the old leaf pattern GRS i adore.

i'm surprised by these 12 and 14 inch bonecutters. in theory, i've requested them in advance from Yangdu already. will have to see about that :) i "don't monitor" DOTDs anymore, except briefly at home, discouraged from the office, so i don't have any chance to "scoop these up". i just learned to order and wait :)

I feel your pain. :(

Mom told me about some layoffs where she works that are being done tomorrow (followed by their Christmas party, which seems an insultingly cruel irony). She believes they are being done now so that the employer doesn't have to pay the vacation time employees get at the start of each year.

i'm a consultant, so it's "expected". however, i'm expecting they nuke some full timers shortly, if they haven't already.

it's the end of a tax year, and a quarter, and generally a slow period, so "timing" is many things at once.

they do have to pay out all accrued vacations though, as well as other things which they don't want to carry over on the books. sucks all around.
